How to interpret a one-page crawl

A one-page crawl can describe a page, but cannot reliably summarize an entire website.

Why this matters

Crawlers may see only a homepage because internal links are missing, a site blocks automated requests, content lives on subdomains, pages require JavaScript or robots rules limit access. A healthy homepage does not prove every article, product or category page is healthy.

Example and interpretation

Suppose a homepage has a perfect title, one H1 and no errors. A single sampled URL may look pristine even though the rest of the site has duplicate pages and missing meta descriptions. Report the sample size prominently alongside any quality score.

What to do next

Compare sampled URLs with the XML sitemap, review important canonical pages, and rerun after checking crawler access. Reduce confidence rather than automatically declaring the domain weak when coverage is limited.
